At today’s briefing, the lawyers of Ilan Shor presented to the press the representatives of the law company Byrne & Partners, as well as the consulting company DRD Partnership, who were involved in the process of defending Ilan Shor’s reputation and exposing the unreasonable findings of the detective company Kroll. According to the representatives of the mayor of Orhei city, who is already under arrest for a year, the publication of preliminary data on the investigation of the banking scandal, the distortion of the matter and the attempt to portray Ilan Shor as the main culprit of the case, significantly damages his reputation, and most importantly, lead the investigation and public opinion from the true culprits and the beneficiaries of this scandal.

In this regard, it is investigated a clear role for private detective company Kroll, hired to assist in the investigation. According to the numerous information published in the international and Moldovan press, the company Kroll previously was repeatedly caught in custom investigations, scandals, and even lost cases on charges of deliberately distorting the facts or pulling the results of the investigation under the parameters required by clients.

According to lawyers, the current situation cannot and should not continue. Defendant Ilan Shor has been actively cooperating with the investigation throughout the whole time and has contributed to a significant advancement in the investigation, executed and fulfills all the requirements of the investigative and judicial bodies. Nevertheless, throughout the year he is under arrest, restricted in his rights. And all this time is under unreasonable information pressure, generated by the company Kroll.

Given the foreign status of Kroll, it was decided to connect to the defense of Ilan Shor with respect to attacks by Kroll, renowned international experts. Representatives of international companies at the briefing for their part told of their experience in international affairs, as well as their vision for cooperation with the protection of the mayor of Orhei and well-known public figure Ilan Shor.
