Head of state, Igor Dodon, has voted in new local elections in Chisinau municipality today. He said he voted for “a more beautiful city”.

The official urged Chisinau to be active and participate at elections.

“Today we have possibility to change situation in the capital, especially since, according to surveys, few citizens are satisfied with state of municipality. I voted for a better and more beautiful Chisinau,” said Dodon.

He noted that he voted for “a mayor which will face challenges.”

“I am not happy with what is being done in Chisinau today. The professional approaches are required that will be achieved without geopolitical involvement,” said Igor Dodon.

There participate eleven candidates in race for leadership of Chisinau: Silvia Radu (independent candidate), Ion Ceban (PSRM), Constantin Codreanu (PUN), Andrei Nastase (PPDA, PAS, PLDM), Alexandr Rosco (PCNM) (PDA), Valeriu Munteanu (PL), Victor Stratila (PVE), Alexandra Can (PNL), Maxim Braila (PP) and Alexandru Mitu (PRSM).
