Relatives of persons awarded posthumously to benefit from allocations in Moldova

The relatives of the persons who were posthumously awarded the Order of the Republic and the Stefan cel Mare order will monthly benefit from allocations worth 500 lei for special merits before the state. The parliament approved a draft to this end in the first reading today.

The draft sees that the allocation for special merits will be paid to the wife or husband, depending on the case, and in their absence – to one of the parents of the posthumously decorated person. At the same time, in case of divorced parents, the sum is divided.

Also, the document establishes that the allocation will be paid based on an application submitted by relatives. The new provisions will enter into force on 1 July 2018, after they are voted in the parliament’s plenum in the final reading.

Under Moldovan president’s decrees, 100 distinctions of Order of the Republic and 139 ones of the Stefan cel Mare order were awarded posthumously.
