Moldovan government, parliament members to boycott meeting of Supreme Security Council

Members of the government and parliament will not participate in tomorrow’s meeting of the Supreme Security Council. Democrat leader Vlad Plahotniuc made the statement today. He said that the decision to boycott the meeting was taken at the PDM weekly meeting as a protest against the lack of coordination between the presidency and government.

Plahotniuc said that President Igor Dodon unveiled details on agenda of council in media, but he forhot to share with the participants in this forum. “We find that the meeting was set on a day when it was known that the first people in the state are not in the country. For these reasons, we decided to recommend the government and parliament members not to attend this forum and ask Dodon to convene the meeting taking into account those listed above,” he said.

Dodon convened a meeting of the Supreme Security Council for 7 March. The agenda included issues related to hearing the Kroll-2 report and draft National Defense Strategy. Also, a work plan of the council for this year is to be considered at the meeting.
