Parliament speaker says IMF, EU appreciate reforms undertaken by Moldova's authorities

Experts of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have given a positive park to the reforms implemented in Moldova and by this, we switched to a qualitatively new phase of cooperation with IMF, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said before the parliament meeting today.

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, Andrian Candu stressed that Moldova had successfully passed the test of the meeting of the Fund’s Board of Directors. The Board appreciated the reforms, economic growth, improvement of the business environment, stability and present potential for switching from the transition to the next stage of economic development.

The parliament speaker welcomed the mark given by the European Union for reforms, including through the budgetary support provided.

”I want to offer thanks to the lawmakers, especially from the parliamentary majority and to the government for the efforts undertaken and results achieved, results praised by IMF and EU,” the speaker said.

Also, Andrian Candu referred to the publication of the second report on investigation of the bank fraud and thanked the Kroll team for the acceptance to publish the document. In early next January, the Kroll team will come to Chisinau and the strategy of recovery of criminal assets related to the bank fraud will be approved. The next stage implies the recovery of money from abroad.
