The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu, who is a candidate for the office of President of Moldova, voted in the morning of October 30. He came to the polling place accompanied by his wife. Asked by journalists what he voted for, he said he voted for the ideal of our forerunners, for Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, because today is a day that reminds about the pain of our people, IPN reports.

”I voted for the freedom and unity of our nation, for mountains and sea, if you want, as it is hard to live without mountains and sea. I voted for a day when happiness will return to this land, for prosperity and freedom,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.

Asked what he expects of these elections, the Liberal leader said he expects we will reach the destination when we set out on our path.
