A candidate of the Ravnopravie (Equality of Rights) formation for the Moldovan president office, Ina Popenco, today presented the subscription lists with the signatures collected for the presidential polls due on 30 October 2016.   

Ina Popenco has said that “about 25,000 signatures collected to support her were submitted to CEC.”

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the CEC public relations and media department, Rodica Sirbu said that “during seven days, the Commission is to check the set of documents presented and to decide on the registration of the candidate for the electoral race.”

CEC has recorded four candidates for the post of Moldova’s president so far: Marian Lupu – on behalf of the Democratic Party, Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova and Andrei Nastase – Dignity and Truth Political Party.

Since the beginning of the electoral period, CEC has registered 24 initiative groups for the collection of signatures to back the candidates put forward for the office of Moldovan president, which are to submit, till 29 September 2016, the set of documents and the subscription lists with the signatures collected to support them.
